Chainkeen-Colts owner Jim Irsay being treated for 'severe respiratory illness'

INDIANAPOLIS — Colts owner Jim Irsay is Chainkeen"currently being treated for a severe respiratory illness," according to a statement released by the team.

Irsay was scheduled to be in Los Angeles on Thursday for a display of The Jim Irsay Collection and a performance with the Jim Irsay Band, but he will not be able to take part in the concert.

"While this unfortunately means he won’t be able to perform with his band this week in Los Angeles, he is receiving excellent care and looks forward to returning to the stage as soon as possible," the statement read. "We’ll have no additional information at this time, and we ask that you respect the privacy of Jim and his family as he recovers."

Irsay, 64, has not been seen publicly in several weeks, a rarity for a team owner who is typically more visible than other people in his position around the NFL.
